An enthusiastic troupe of 16 plus flyers and supporters gathered at the Gunnedah Airport on Feb 24th for the Betty Sydney Memorial Arial Cake Targeting competition.

A great BBQ lunch was organised, the highlight of which was the Sweetlip from tropical Qld, provided and cooked by Grumman Ray.

The highly professional judging panel of Kate and Chrissy were merciless in their deliberations.  The use of high tech measuring apparatus was evident and all the attempts at corruption were met with a very stern rebuke.

That being as it may, the close fought competition was won by Sam and Robin with a direct hit – almost.  An unnamed competitor won the Dambusters award for discolouring the “lake” behind the target zone.

Reputations were tarnished.  Old bombardiers admitted to needing an up-tuning of skills.  Ava, the winner of the junior category showed all how it was done.
